Huddersfield Giants youngster Jared Simpson is celebrating a new two-year contract with his hometown club after a “whirlwind” couple of months.

The exciting full-back, who was only playing with the club on a part-time basis, made a brilliant try-scoring debut against Wigan Warriors in June and won man of the match in his first two games.

Son of former Bradford Northern fans’ favourite Roger Simpson, he also scored in his second game, the win over Warrington Wolves and, until recently, kept experienced Ireland international Scott Grix out of the Giants’ side.
